Cosmic Smoothie Bowl

Ready to spice up how you eat your smoothies? Well get your engines ready for this Cosmic smoothie bowl ready to take any cold or rainy day to another planet. Smoothie bowls are great, they are filled with nutrients, vitamins and a great way to start your day, have a post workout snack or just an evening desert. I love them because you can mix and match your bowl and make it unique creation. For example, in every smoothie bowl I make it a point to try as much as possible to add new fruit, especially when different fruits are in season. I also love making my own smoothie bowl a masterpiece of sorts, I don’t know it’s something about carefully putting the chia seeds and granola that make it a fun experience.

 

The best part about smoothie bowls is that you can add whatever you like in them and you can make them as nutritious as possible. For this recipe I have added some health goodies, Chia seeds are filled with Omega-3 Fatty acids which are great for our memory. Omnivores get their Omega-3s typically from fish but since vegan and vegetarians don’t eat fish we rely on other nuts to get this nutrient. You would be surprised how many nuts contain the same nutrients meat eaters think they need from animals. This recipe also has blueberries! Blueberries are filled with antioxidants that are great for fighting heart, eye memory and immune problems. The granola has fiber which is great for healthy digestion. I also love to add strawberries to my smoothie for the vitamins and bananas for potassium! I love how colorful this bowl becomes it makes me think of the solar system once you mix in your top ingredients so check out this recipe below for my Cosmic Smoothie bowl! Enjoy!

 

Cosmic Smoothie Bowl

 

Servings 1      Prep Time 5 Minutes       Cook Time 5 Minutes Total Time 10 Minutes

 

Ingredients:

 

1 Banana

⅓ cup of Strawberries

¼ cup of Blueberries

½ cup of dairy free milk

¼ cup ice

1 Kiwi sliced

1 Tbsp Chia Seeds

1 Tbsp Coconut Shreds 

¼ cup Granola

1 Tsp Agave (optional) 

 

Directions:

 

  1. In a blender, blend your Banana, Strawberries, blueberries, ice and dairy free milk until well blended.

  2. Pour your smoothie into a bowl

  3. Add your toppings of Sliced Kiwi, Chia Seeds, Coconut, and Granola

  4. Sit Down and Enjoy!
