So one of the most interesting parts about being eating a meat free life is that many people have different variations of how they start. For some people that helps them make the transition easier. Now I didn't know there were different terms for being a vegetarian until I started to dive a little deeper into living a meat free life. So here are the not so complex definitions of meat free eating.
Ovo Lacto Vegetarian this is what honestly most people start out with. These vegetarians exclude meat and fish but still eat eggs and dairy. This is the easiest for most people to switch to because you are essentially only only taking out meat and fish, or as I say anything that has eyes or shellfish.
Lacto vegetarian's takes out meat, fish and eggs.
Ovo vegetarian's Exclude meat, fish and dairy but eats eggs
A Vegan is a person who excludes all animals products and bi-products. So they don’t eat dairy, eggs, meat or fish of course, or anything that has animal products, like honey or gelatin.
So there you have it, the nitty gritty of going vegetarian or vegan. Most people won’t ask these spefic questions but its always better to know just in case you get asked.
