Buffalo Tofu Bites

A quick and easy appetizer we enjoy eating is air fried tofu. This dish is easy to top a salad with at home, to serve as finger food for a party, or to have to snack on, during an at-home movie night. These little bites are packed full of flavor with a kick of heat and are easy to make! Using an air fryer, you can make this dish in twenty minutes and have it ready for any occasion. Emanuel particularly loves to make this dish during his lunch break and enjoys his tofu bites by dipping them in vegan ranch. When we don't make our own ranch, we love to use Follow Your Heart's option.

For this recipe, I recommend “double-dipping” your tofu bites in the batter. This way the tofu gets fully coated with the buffalo goodness. I also like to give the dry mix an extra kick of heat by adding a variety of spices. My last tip for this recipe is to add a little pinch of vegan ranch powder mix, this gives the bites a nice full flavor. Make sure to double-check the ingredients of your ranch mix packet as many contain animal-derived ingredients. I use the Kroger Ranch Powder Mix in this recipe, which does not contain any animal-derived ingredients.

If you have leftovers and want to add it to a salad. I suggest warming them up in the oven at 350°F for about 10 mins, be sure to check to make sure they aren’t getting charred. I like to add my tofu bites over a bed of lettuce mix, with micro greens, carrots, red onions and topped with vegan ranch.

Buffalo Tofu Bites

Prep time: 10 Minutes l Cook time: 10 Minutes l Total time: 20 Minutes

Serves: 2


½ block of extra firm tofu

Dry ingredients:

½ tsp Onion powder

½ tsp Garlic

½ tsp Cayenne pepper

1 tsp Old Bay

½ tsp Pepper

½ tsp Salt

¼ tsp Chipotle pepper

1 tsp Paprika

1 tsp Vegan Ranch Dip Mix

1 tbsp Nutritional yeast

1/2 cup Flour

Wet Ingredients:

½ cup Buffalo Sauce (I use this brand)


  1. Press and cut your tofu into bite sizes

  2. Mix your dry ingredients into one bowl and your wet ingredients into another.

  3. To coat the tofu, I like to use the double-dip method. In order to do this you need to choose one hand to be dedicated to the wet bowl and the other to the dry bowl. Then dip your tofu bite into the wet bowl and then dip into the dry bowl. Repeat this process once more, the wet mixture to dry mixture and place on your air fryer tray.

  4. Cook your tofu bites on 375°F for 10 minutes.

  5. Serve with your desired dipping sauce and enjoy!
