Fiesta Fridays: Party Tofu Bites
Updated: Jan 20, 2020
Tofu bites have always been a fan favorite for me, the first time I ever had them was at a summer outing I had with Emanuel and I met my now brothers in law for the first time. At the time I was a vegetarian and the members of Emanuel’s family are omnivores, meaning that sometimes they had a difficult time figuring out what I could eat. Although as courtesy to those hosting any event, I always come prepared with easy ideas of things I could pick up and share with them. Although on this particular day, I was elated when I came in and there was something I could eat that was different. I remember tasting the “bites” for the first time that my brothers in laws made and loving how crispy it tasted. It was automatically hands down my new favorite veggie party snack. The part that really brought the tofu together was the array of dipping sauces. I mean this selection was so great that everyone in the family tried a tofu bite and liked with the dipping sauces. It just really showed how food can bring a group of people together even if we don’t all follow the same eating lifestyle. For this reason I have made this a great recipe to add to the Fiesta Friday Series! So check out this recipe below and bring it to your next family outing, they will love just!
Also if you are unsure of how to prepare tofu I have created a Tofu 101 video and I made this recipe as a bonus. Enjoy!

Party Tofu Bites
Ingredients:
1 block of firm tofu
2 Cups Oil
Dry Ingredients:
½ tsp Onion powder
½ tsp Garlic
½ tsp Cayenne pepper
½ tsp Pepper
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Chipotle pepper
¼ tsp Rosemary
¼ tsp Thyme
¼ tsp Paprika
1 tbsp Nutritional yeast
1 cup Flour
Additional:
Dipping Sauces
Directions:
First drain and cut your tofu into bite size square pieces
Then coat your tofu bites in a bowl with the seasoning. I do this in stages because it is easier to carefully coat each bite.
Then in a pan of oil that is about 350 degrees fry your tofu bites until golden brown and place on a plate with a double layer of paper towels.
Place on a serving dish with your dipping Sauces. I chose Sweet and Sour, Sriracha and Barbecue Sauce! Enjoy
