Vegan Grapefruit Lip Scrub
I love to try to pamper myself whenever I can, and the best way I can do this is by doing it at home. It’s cheaper, I can use the same product more often, and I love knowing exactly what is going into the product I’m putting on my body. So today I’m going to show you how to make a super simple lip scrub. If there is one thing I hate more than anything it is having chapped lips. I hate it in the winter and the summer and all the seasons between. Chapped lips are one thing I st

How I make a filling Vegan Meal
When I first started eating meatless, the hardest part for me was trying to figure out how to fill up my plate. I thought about just having pastas and soy products. At first it was a little difficult, but when I became a vegan I did a little research and found some pretty practical tips that helped me make my plate more filling. So I have tried to simply compile a little guide for you! When making your plate think, fruits, grains, starches, protein and vegetables, this should

Vegan Blueberry Muffins
When I was a kid I loved to bake. I loved being able to be in control of mixing the flour and adding in the ingredients. I also loved to lick the bowl at the end (I mean I haven’t yet met anyone who hasn’t). Though what I loved the most was being able to complete my baking creation, normally a cake, sometimes the occasional cookie and sharing it with others. I liked to see the delight on my younger brothers faces, as they sat down to inhale my cake or how we would end up eati

Not My Nanny's; Vegan Mac and Cheese
As a kid, I would always love and treasure the nights when my mom made my grandmother’s (we call her Nanny) Mac and Cheese. This mac and cheese was loved by all and has been made for three generations, my nanny learning it from my great mother, my mother and aunt from nanny, and myself from my mom. It’s one of our favorite family meals, we all mostly knew it by heart, add the flour, cooked noodles cheese, so on and so forth. The memorization came in handy of course when my no

Wild, Wild, Buffalo Hummus Dip
Looking for that next great party dip or your next netflix binge snack? Well look no further than the Buffalo Hummus dip. This dip is hot, but just enough to keep you wanting more. My husband, Emanuel loves it when I make this dip because he enjoy spicier foods and I would agree with him. We tend to pair this with carrots and celery for a healthier alternative to crackers. The carrot for me, tends to give a nice crunch and the celery really helps with a cooling effect to eve

Six great things that happen when you go Vegan
The best thing about going on a plant based lifestyle is that there are so many healthy positives that come out of it. For me it was most definitely skin and hair quality, for my husband his blood work changed radically in the matter of months. Here are some other observations I have learned while switching over to a meatless lifestyle. I have a lot more energy. This took time to cultivate for myself but I can honestly say that I can workout for what feels like longer with m

Getting Started
We’ve all been there, thinking about going vegan but thought it just seems so hard. You watched others become vegan and wonder how the heck did they do that, and why? Questions run through your mind like: "Are they going to start protesting? If I become a vegan do I have to start protesting as well?" If you are a vegetarian you think “I could never be a vegan”, until one day you just do. I have been in many of those stages of meatless eating and finally just switched to bein

Vegetarian Definitions
So one of the most interesting parts about being eating a meat-free life is that many people have different variations of how they start. For some people that helps them make the transition easier. Now I didn't know there were different terms for being a vegetarian or vegan until I started to dive a little deeper into living a meat-free life. So here are the not so complex definitions of meat free eating. Ovo Lacto Vegetarianism is how many plant-based eaters begin their jour

My Vegan Pantry
When I started out eating a meatless lifestyle I was mostly eating instant vegetarian foods, mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and of course pasta. This was working for me as a younger meat-free eater but as I have gotten older, I have learned how to expand my pantry from just eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or frozen vegetarian entrees. Although you should know that when you go vegan you don’t have to go out and buy all the meatless items in the fr
